Meet the Guardian Sports Gear Board

 

Guardian Sports Gear has taken great effort in approaching some of the most recognizable sports and business personalities to become part of our Board of Advisors. With that in mind, we are proud to have the following people accept our invitation to be part of the Guardian Sports Gear Team. ( A detailed resume of each Advisor can be reviewed upon request)

 

Don Casey

  1. Head Coach of Bishop Eustace at the age of 20 years old.

  2. Joined coaching staff of Harry Litwack at Temple University in  1960

  3. Head Coach of Temple University 1973-1982

  4. NBA Coach – 1982-2000

  5. Vice Chairman of the President’s Council on Physical Fitness – 2000

  6. Vice President of the NBA’s Coaches Association

  7. Advisor for Team USA for the 2008 Olympics

 

Dr. Jack Ramsay

1.       Head Coach Saint Joseph’s College – 6 big 5 championships

2.       Philadelphia 76ers General Manager – NBA Title

3.       Philadelphia 76ers Head Coach

4.       Buffalo Braves – Head Coach

5.       Portland Trailblazers – Head Coach – NBA Title

6.       Coach of 1978 NBA All Star Game

8.       Television and Radio Announcer for ESPN, Fox Sports and other major market outlets

9.       Enshrined in the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame as a coach on May 11, 1992.

 

Dr. Ralph Pim

  1. Associate professor and director of competitive sports in the Department of Physical Education at the United States Military Academy at West Point. 

  2. He served as the Fitness Leader I course director from 2001 to 2005.

  3. Chairperson of the physical education department at Limestone College (SC). He also was the head men's basketball coach and the associate athletic director. 

  4.  Coach - Central Michigan University

  5.  Coach - The College of William and Mary, Northwestern State University of Louisiana, and Barberton (OH) High School. 

  6. Technical advisor for the Basketball Association of Wales.  He implemented training programs to facilitate the development of basketball throughout the country of Wales.  He also assisted with the training of their national teams at the Olympic Training Center in Cardiff, Wales.

  7. Authored six books on basketball and written numerous coaching articles.  He presented at the 2005 Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame Enshrinement and at the NCAA Division I Final Four in 2004 and 2005.

  8. Member of the Phi Kappa Phi honor society. 

  9. Serves on the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Champions of Character.

 

Cedric Jones

  1. Graduate of Duke University where he was the ACC’s career leading scorer in receiving.  He served as Co-Captain and was the team MVP, first team All-Atlantic coast conference, and second team all American as a senior.  In 2004 Jones was inducted into the duke sports hall of fame.

  2. In 1982, Jones was the third round draft pick of the New England Patriots, where he played nine seasons and also played in Super Bowl XX.

  3. Re-joined the NFL in 1993 as the manager of youth programs, developing programs and marketing strategies for youth education programs in all NFL cities.  Since August 1994, Jones served as senior manager of club marketing, director of club marketing, director of consumer products, senior director of consumer products-on field operations and NFL coaches club, and senior director of the NFL Youth Football department.

  4. Current Director of Athletics for the New York Athletic Club where he oversees 20 sports and two athletic facilities. He is the first African-American to hold that position.  

 

Jones is a member of Beyond the Boroughs Board of Directors, a member of the U.S. Army All-America Game Advisory Board, a member of Football University’s Advisory Board, member of USA Football Board of Directors, member of National Advisory Board of Parents’ Choice, a  former member of the Duke Alumni Board of Directors, a former member of the Duke Athletic Council, a former member of the Northeast Region Board of Directors Boy Scouts of America, attended the Stanford Executive Education Program for NFL Mangers, and has completed the George Washington University Youth Sports Administrator Certification Program.

 

Bob Weinhauer

  1. Head Coach - University of Pennsylvania

  2. He was voted Eastern College Coach of the Year in 1979.

  3. Head Coach - Arizona State University

  4.  Head coach of the CBA’s Detroit Spirit

  5.  Director of player personnel, assistant coach and assistant general manager – Philadelphia 76ers

  6. Assistant Coach - Atlanta Hawks  

  7. Assistant - Minnesota Timberwolves

  8. General Manager of the Houston Rockets – NBA Title

  9. Milwaukee Bucks

 

Weinhauer’s special recognitions include inductions in the Cortland College Hall of Fame in 1995, Massapequa High School of Fame in 1997 and the Philadelphia Big Five Hall of Fame in 2002.

 

Kelly Samson

Ms. Samson is currently President of Three Points Incorporated, located in Los Angeles California.  Her company operates a global network of sourcing offices and assists clients to identify the best suppliers around the world. 

 

Prior to her current position, Ms. Samson was the President of Ultima Distribution Inc. in Gardenia, California.  She successfully managed all aspects of distribution, including implementing automated distribution systems: selecting, managing in training personnel; monitoring leading cross functional team on key projects; designed the layout, organization, process’s and procedures for a large distribution facility as well as the founder and general manager of a multi million dollar business. Ultima Distribution Inc. was acquired and successfully purchased by Springs Industries, Inc. 

 

She is responsible for managing all aspects of operations for a 100,000 square foot distribution center with three different locations that have processed more than 8,000,000 units annually while managing 1000 SKU’s to supply product to national chain stores in different distribution centers annually.
